Birthday Wishes

I had one of the best birthdays in recent memory this year. Despite it now being officially the last year of my Twenties, it was an altogether happy occasion.

We made plans to hit the Georgia Aquarium up as a family early Monday morning (GA residents get FREE admission on their birthday and children under the age of 3 are FREE as well...so B Daddy was the only one paying for a ticket!) and spent a delightful, tantrum-free morning there. If you live in the ATL and haven't been, I highly recommend it (especially for FREE), but I think it's best seen through the eyes of a little one. The Squirt was a perfect age for exploring and Sweet B took in the sights from the comfort of the Baby Bjorn carrier. We had to hit up the penguin tunnel twice it was so exciting. I think B Daddy and I could have spent all afternoon here, watching the whale sharks circle by.

We spent a silent afternoon at home, as the kiddos took insanely long naps, and then had family dinner at my parents' home. This year almost everyone conspired in their gift giving to help me knock out my 30 Before 30 list!

B Daddy is giving me lessons in kayak rolling (#11) and is outsourcing voice lessons (#8) to a professional! My parents are giving me stick-shift driving lessons (#16, also providing vehicle, instruction AND babysitting). My sis and bro-in-law gave me a sewing project and $$ to buy supplies for it and both sets of parents and parents-in-law gave me cash for a new clothes shopping spree. Does it get any better??

Actually it does. Anna capped off the evening with this cake we'd both seen in blogland, which I was floored by. I really do appreciate the homemade love. If you want to add it to your 4th of July arsenal for next year, there's a step-by-step tutorial here.
