The Last Name

It makes me sad occasionally that marriage meant trading in my perfectly pronounceable (AND easily spelled) maiden name - Brock - for the way more confusing Leipprandt.

I thought I'd give a little tutorial for those of you reading this blog who have no clue how to pronounce our name.

It's Lie - Prant. That's all. Much easier than it looks.

P.S. We now have THREE home-laid eggs. : )

  1. Thank you. I'm sure that you would LOVE to hear some of the crazy pronunciations that I have used so far....

  2. I know where you are coming from - I never thought Helmey was so difficult. It is pronounced Hel-Me. Pretty simple, right! So many people either transpose the m & l, saying Hem-Lee or add an extra l, saying Helm-Lee. It is really quite funny! At least you can tell when a telemarketer is calling!!

  5. Kay-dee, this is Yonkers. I mean, Young-kins, wait what? I mean Yun-kins. Used to be "Moral of the story, Morrill" but even that was hard for some folks... More-rill?
