The biggest budget buster for us is always food. And this month we came in a tad under budget on eating out and a tad over budget on groceries which cancel each other out exactly. Love it when that happens. I even squeezed the first 3 month subscription to e-mealz.com out of this month's grocery budget (a stipulation from B Daddy for us giving it a go.)
So we really dug deep into the pantry this last week to make it through and here is a list of all the "staples" I'm currently out of:
Peanut butter
Bread
Bagels
Waffles
Turkey
Cheese
Butter
Brown sugar
Creamer
And the kicker....COFFEE.
Have I told you how much I love my morning coffee? I don't think I have any friends currently who relate to my relationship with my morning java. It makes me sad. (For them, not me.) I love love love my coffee. I love the way it smells, I love the way it tastes, I love the way it looks when the creamer swirls around and turns it that perfect shade of sweetness. I love its warmth under my fingers as I shuffle around the kitchen. I love the sky blue glazed mug I drink it out of. It is so many wonderful things to me.
I can't wait to hit up the store tomorrow.
I think your next post should just be a picture of your yummy coffee. :) I will try not to take it personally that coffee out-ranked me.
ReplyDeleteUm, part of my evening routine (up there with brushing my teeth and washing my face) is setting the coffee maker for the next morning. EVERY.NIGHT.
ReplyDeleteI understand, Katie.
You are a better person than I.
I would have sacrificed the budget :)
Just a thought...have you considered making waffles instead of the Eggo kind? It might help stretch the budget. I know where you can get a waffle maker cheap! Make a batch ahead and freeze and then you'd still have the convenience of popping 'em in the toaster.
ReplyDeleteOut of coffee? You are a brave soul!
