8 years later

Eight years later and it still chills me to think about. I remember the day so vividly.

Do you remember where you were 8 years ago today?

Say a prayer for the families who are still grieving.
Say a prayer for this divided nation.
We could all use a little more of the love.

  1. I was in my apt... sophomore year of college. My roommate, Bob, and I were fixed to the TV as I tried to contact my sister in Manhattan. I still have chills when I revisit that memory.

Thanks for this post... and for this blog! I love being able to catch up with you two, even if it is through a computer screen. = )

  2. I was in an 8:00 am History class. Stayed on campus in the Founders Memorial Garden by myself for a couple of hours. Went back to the apartment and fell asleep watching the news until Mobley came home. It does seem like yesterday. So surreal.

  3. Thanks for sharing guys! I had a morning Spanish class at UGA that day. We were supposed to be watching a video and the professor turned the TV on, saw the burning towers and actually flipped to video mode to pop his tape in. No one in class understood what that quick second of TV was about.
After class I could tell something was going on walking around campus and popped in a business building to watch the news with everyone. Went straight home frantically trying to get in touch with my boyfriend at the time who was at NYU.
I think I sat on the floor in front of the TV all day repeatedly trying to get through to Danny.

  4. UGA, Freshman year. I had just sat down on a Campus bus when the driver announced over the intercom "some kind of attack has just happen in New York," I jump off, sprinted to my Dorm room, and flipped on the TV just as the second plane flew into the South Tower. I remember being stunned, in disbelief, and transfixed on the news coverage. I remember my heart sank as I witnessed the Towers fall. My hope is that 9/11 always is the day of Remembrance to those who lost their lives in this tragic event, and that 9/12 always is the day we celebrate the selfless actions of our Country's service members and volunteers.
